Summary of Position

Supervise ODC Pallet Shop clients and production employees in on-site production operations. 

Responsible for setting up and overseeing assigned jobs in order to meet customer quality specifications and deadlines.  Provide training and employment of ODC clients.

 I.          Education and Experience

High school graduate with minimum of 2 years practical work experience, post high school training or military service. 

3 years Industrial and/or supervisory experience a must.  Advanced computer skills needed, mechanical aptitude preferred.

Experience working in woodroom or construction.

 II.            Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Essential Functions

·         Train, direct and supervise employees with varying levels of ability in ODC/ODCGS production operations.

·         Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.

·        Work under guidance of Operations Manager to perform and complete the assigned duties in a timely manner

·         Operate lift trucks and other equipment in a safe manner

·         Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation

·         Work effectively with customers – both internal and external customers.

·         Make independent day-to-day production decisions; plan and schedule workload.

·         "Lead by Example" by creating a work environment which reflects a commitment to employee safety, product quality and positive employee relations

·         Ability to follow established procedures and practices 

·         Perform setup, operation, troubleshooting and routine maintenance on production equipment.

·         Meet production deadlines and schedule workforce with efficient use of labor and materials.

·         Compile and report daily production information and report as requested.

·         Oversight of time card entry and verification.

·         Adapt to changing production demands and multiple priorities.

·         Monitor job assignment, training and employee performance.

·         Monitor and control production inventory information.

·         Perform material handling as needed.

·         Serve on ODC/ODCGS committees as requested.

·         Assist services staff on evaluating and monitor client employees’ vocational rehabilitation goals.

·         Monitor cleanliness and safety of production work environment.

·         Quality – responsible for quality in assigned area – including first piece approval, ensuring quality requirements are being met – ensuring production employees are trained in quality requirements and are following SOP and quality procedures.  Authority/responsibility to stop production due to a safety or quality issue. 

·         Advanced computer skills

·         Communicate effectively with all departments.

·         Track labor and production on each job on daily job sheets.

 III.        Physical Requirements

·         Ability to produce at required rate and quality of assigned job.

·         Ability to facilitate and respond to verbal, written, computerized, fax communications.

·         Ability to operate production electrical/motor driven equipment and machinery.

·         Mobility to access various locations within ODC facility.

·         Ability to perform quality inspection according to ODC’s and/or customer’s requirements.

·         Bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, standing, sitting, walking frequently required.

·         Lifting 40 – 50 lbs frequently – up to 60 pounds occasionally
